Portland, OR – Tension Tamer Jenni Jo McLaughlin will unveil her Airstream Basecamp-X Peace Pod, the first of its kind mobile spa on June 23rd for a family friendly launch party at the Jupiter hotel. The Peace Pod is a personalized healing capsule for both one time unique and exceptional therapeutic experiences and for ongoing length-of-tour care for chronic muscle conditions. The party’s activities for all ages will include bubbles, crown making, ice cream and cotton candy as well as music from Pharcyde founding member, DJ SlimKid3. Danny Quirk will offer live, anatomical art painting and there will be both a silent auction and a raffle for a Relax Like a Rockstar experience in the Peace Pod as well as a night at the Jupiter Hotel. Artemis Foods will be catering the event.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Rock and Roll camp for Girls and Cathedral Park Performing Arts Collective.
Jenni Jo specializes in holistic, therapeutic bodywork and massage for musicians and performers and is available for one-off concerts, festivals, and touring. The licensed massage therapist nationally approved education provider and certified practitioner of Yamuna Body/Feet/Face Fitness has been practicing professionally since 2003 and has been hired for her therapeutic services by everyone from internationally touring artists Adam Levine & Maroon 5, Amos Lee, Amy Schumer and Kacey Musgraves’ band and crew to traveling with Faith Hill in 2007 as her personal massage and bodywork therapist. Additionally, Jenni Jo has been hired by the Portland Zoo’s amphitheater, Sasquatch Festival, Tacomadome, Les Schwab Amphitheater, Moda Center, Arelene Schnitzer Concert Hall, The Aladdin Theater and the Roseland Theater in the Pacific Northwest.
The Peace Pod will function as an onsite “home away from home” and respite from the rigors of touring or set life and will offer a relaxed and serene personal sanctuary for musicians. It boasts a steam room complete with teak flooring, bench seating and dimmable lights. It offers an aromatherapy diffuser with client’s choice of essential oils, heated hand air compression massager, hot towels, hot stones, warm flax seed eye pillows and bodyCushions for the ultimate in comfort and relaxation.
Jenni Jo’s Peace Pod experience will emphasize her integrity, attention to detail, personalization, individual attention and passion for promoting health. “I believe that performers and crew who are fully functional, relaxed and cared for are able to provide a better experience for the ticket holder. I’ve elevated the entire ‘Relax Like a Rockstar’ mobile bodycare experience with the first of it’s kind, fully customized Airstream Basecamp-X, the worlds first teeny tiny mobile spa! Now, regardless of where in the world one is, I am able to provide all of my therapeutic offerings, all within the aluminum walls of the Airstream,” she says.
“After years of offering onsite massage therapy and bodywork, I kept running into the same problem time and time again: inadequate room at the venue for me,” says Jenni Jo. “I’ve even lost opportunities because the venue didn’t have the space for me to set up my massage table. I have always loved Airstreams. For 15 years I have dreamed of creating a mobile studio so that I would never have to spend time recreating my studio on site at venues. I bring my studio to you, complete with the ambience and all, maximizing the hands on time on site. So after that many years of dreaming, in 2018 I decided to finally do something about it. I have solved the problem of needing to find created a relaxed and serene mobile personal sanctuary to help my clients feel their best. I provide a respite from the rigors of touring life. And after touring myself in 2007 as Faith Hill’s personal massage therapist, I understand firsthand how hard traveling can be on the body. I’m beyond thrilled to introduce: the Peace Pod!”
Following its launch, the Peace Pod will be available for hire by musicians, venues, record labels, management companies, local businesses, private clients and anyone else who would benefit from the holistic experience. Jenni Jo worked closely with Ultimate Airstream – the only authorized customization center in the United States — to develop the Peace Pod. For months we went back and forth over designs and ideas. Their motto is ‘we take your dreams and make them a reality!’ And they did. Airstream is iconic and it’s important to me that the quality and caliber of the Airstream brand was carried through all of my studio design elements.”
Jenni Jo is fully insured, nationally certified and a member of the Oregon Board of Massage Therapy #10533. She is a member of both NCBTMB and AMTA since 2003. Jenni Jo’s techniques are a fusion of Therapeutic Deep Tissue, Lomi Lomi Hawaiian, Swedish Relaxation, Heat Therapy Intuitive Stretching, Range of Motion Facilitation, Ashiatsu Deep Feet Therapy, Aromatherapy and includes the Yamuna® Body Rolling Method. Each massage is personally customized to address individual specific goals and therapeutic treatment plans are created allowing for progressive work.
